Our Summer Discovery Program is at an end. Which is both sad and exciting. I’m looking forward to our fall programming, but I definitely want to congratulate everyone who participated in our Young Adult Summer Discovery Auction.
Readers earn ‘Library Bucks’ that can be used to bid on prizes at the auction. Stuff like a laptop and a tablet and a real charcoal grill. But no matter how many Bucks a reader earns, nobody goes home empty handed.
The surprise runaway favorite was not, in fact, the laptop. It was the TV! We also had high bids for Movie Night Kits – which included a blu-ray disc, popcorn and candy. The dart board went high, too. Of course, everyone wanted a bag of Takis – and since they were 4 bags for a Buck, they went fast!
Everyone got something, and everyone left with a smile on their face, so all-in-all I’d call this a rousing success!
